The Office of the District Attorney is dedicated to protecting our community through the fair and ethical pursuit of justice and the safeguarding of victim’s rights. This office seeks to enhance public safety and welfare through the vigorous enforcement of criminal and civil laws in a just, honest and efficient manner. The Office of the District Attorney will aggressively prosecute criminals and diligently protect the innocent. This office makes it a priority to protect children and others who are unable to protect themselves. We are committed to fair and equal treatment of all people, regardless of race, religion, national origin, gender, age, sexual orientation or identity. Being well-positioned to determine the effect criminal laws in this State have on our fellow citizens, this office is dedicated to seeking the improvement of our laws based upon a civil and respectful discussion of issues affecting criminal and social justice.

About Us
The District Attorney’s Office for the 19th Judicial District prosecutes all felony cases in Jackson, George, and Greene Counties. Our office handles between 2,500-3,500 cases per year. The court docket is composed of all indicted felony cases and includes crimes against property, crimes against the person, violent crimes, child sex crimes, and DUI. In our office, there is one District Attorney, nine assistant District Attorneys, four criminal investigators, support staff, and various community outreach program coordinators.
