The primary role of The LaPointe Krebs Museum (formerly Old Spanish Fort) is serve the public by informing of the rich history of the LaPointe Krebs House and of the diverse people that have inhabited this site and our surrounding area throughout history.
Built in 1859 and a beacon for mariners for 150 years, the hurricane-ravaged remnants of Round Island Lighthouse were rescued and relocated to mainland Pascagoula in 2010.
Located on the Mississippi Gulf Coast in Pascagoula, the LaPointe-Krebs house, built in 1757, is the oldest structure in Mississippi and is the oldest confirmed building in the entire Mississippi Valley.
