Sheriff Department Events
From singing to fishing to horse riding, the Sheriff's Department hosts or is involved in a variety of annual events to raise funds for those in need. For more information about any of them or to find out how to participate please contact the Sheriff's Department. We'd love to have you on board!
Sheriff's Gospel Sing
Proceeds from the Gospel Sing are given to a charity involving young people. The charity is chosen by the Sheriff.
When: Weekend before Thanksgiving each year
Where: It is held at the
Civic
Center
Annual Bass Tournament
Proceeds from the tournament go to the Sheriff’s Benefit Fund, which provides emergency assistance for officers as well as the public, and funds food baskets at Christmas.
When: Late spring or early summer
Where: Varies each year
Sheriff's Rodeo
The Rodeo is sponsored by the Sheriff’s Mounted Patrol and funds from the event are used by the Mounted Patrol to supplement maintenance of their equipment, training, and they also donate funds to worthwhile causes.
When: Usually held in May but may vary
Where: The Mallette Horse Arena in Vancleave. Actually, it begins this Friday. It is usually held in May, but all these dates are flexible and subject to change.
