Personal:
John McKay is married to Linda, a retired elementary school teacher. They have three sons and seven grandchildren.

Education:  

McKay has Bachelor of Science Degree from University of Southern Mississippi.He also has Military Education through his affiliation with the Army National Guard.

• Jackson County Board of Supervisors - elected for the 2000-2003, 2004-2007, 2008-2011, and 2012-2015 terms
• Jackson County Board President 2004, 2008, and 2012
• Lieutenant Colonel in the Mississippi Army National Guard - 27 years; now retired
• Operator at Chevron in Pascagoula; now retired
• Graduate of Leadership Jackson County
• Alderman for the City of Ocean Springs for three terms
• Recreation Director for the City of Ocean Springs
