Mike Mangum is married to Joy, a retired High School teacher and volunteer at Singing River Hospital. They have one son and two grandchildren. Mike and Joy attend First Baptist Church of Pascagoula.

Mike graduated from Wingfield High School in Jackson, Ms. and attended Hinds Community College .
