Road Dept. starting replacement projects in Vestry & Latimer
The Jackson County Road Department is announcing a bridge replacement project in the Vestry Community starting on Wednesday, Nov. 2.
The Road Dept. will close a part of Vestry Road to replace the current wooden piling bridge with a concrete pre-cast bridge over Red Creek. Drivers can detour around the construction area by using Highway 57 and Schoolhouse Road. The improvement project is expected to take four weeks to complete.
Ten miles south in the Latimer Community, County road crews are starting a cross drain replacement project on Old Biloxi Road. The road will remain open but residents should expect delays of 10 to 15 minutes throughout the day. Work is expected to be completed in three weeks.
All drivers are asked to use caution around these construction sites. Pay special attention to traffic signs, road workers and heavy equipment.
