Road Advisories in Jackson County
The Jackson County Road Department was notified Bayou Cumbest Road will be partially closed beginning Tuesday, September 20 through mid-October. The closure will be between the Police Training Academy driveway and the new Refinery Access Road.
The closure is necessary as crews install a large capacity water line as part of a Jackson County Port Authority improvement project. Road engineers are expecting the temporary road closure to affect traffic along Highway 90 during heavy commute times.
Detour signs will be clearly posted directing traffic around the construction area. Door hangers will also be distributed in the local neighborhoods that may be affected by the detoured traffic. As always, drivers are asked to use caution around this construction site. Pay special attention to traffic signs, road workers, and heavy equipment.
