What's New in Jackson County
The Jackson County Board of Supervisors declared Thursday, May 2, 2013 as National Day of Prayer for the County. This year’s theme, “Pray for America”, is based on the verse from Matthew 12:21 which reminds us that “In His name the nations will put their hope”. Event Coordinator, Robby Myrick, received the annual proclamation during the April 15 Board meeting.
Jackson County will celebrate EARTH DAY by hosting its 10th Annual “Household Hazardous Waste Collection Day” Saturday, April 20, 2013 from 8 a.m. - Noon in the Singing River Mall Parking Lot. This free turn-in will allow Jackson County residents to dispose of household hazardous waste properly.
The Jackson County Board of Supervisors proclaimed April 15 – April 19 as Homemaker Volunteer Week in recognition of the community service and continued education the organization has donated over the past eight decades.
