What's New in Jackson County

The Jackson County Board of Supervisors proclaimed today, March 11, 2013 as Kathryn Childress Webb Day.

The Jackson County Board of Supervisors held a ribbon cutting at the St. Martin Hurricane Shelter (Safe House) on Wednesday, March 6 at 10 a.m.. County residents joined the Supervisors, MEMA and other emergency operation representatives at the event celebrating one of the largest public safety projects the County has undertaken.

Jackson County Board of Supervisors 2013 President Mike Mangum presented the official “2013 State of the County” address on Wednesday, January 30 at the Pascagoula Rotary Club.

The Jackson County Board of Supervisors is holding an open house at the new Vancleave Hurricane Shelter on Thursday, February 7 from 5-6 p.m. A Town Hall meeting will be held immediately following the event.
The Hurricane Shelter Open House marks the official completion of three identical shelters that have been under simultaneous construction by the County since 2011.

On Thursday, January 24 at 2:00 p.m., the Jackson County Bicentennial Time Capsule will be placed in the ground in front of the Courthouse, and sealed up until 2062 – 50 years from now.
