What's New IN Jackson Co.

Jackson County Board of Supervisors President John McKay presented the official “2012 State of the County” address on Wednesday, January 25th at the Pascagoula Rotary Club.

Beginning tomorrow, 1/11/2012, the Jackson County Road Department will conduct road closures at the intersections of Old Biloxi and Vestry Road and Old Biloxi and Schoolhouse Road for approximately 8 weeks in order to replace the existing bridge for a safer and larger structure.  Detour signs will be clearly posted on the roadway.  The Road Department appreciates the patience of Jackson County’s citizens during this process. 

The Jackson County Small Craft Harbor Office in Ocean Springs is reminding the more than ninety boat owners who are currently on the wait list for a boat slip, that they need to come in by Jan. 31, 2012 to re-sign their wait list card and pay their $5.00 annual fee in order to remain on the list for 2012. 

The Jackson County Road Department was notified Bayou Cumbest Road will be partially closed beginning Tues., September 20 through mid-October. The closure will be between the Police Training Academy driveway and the new Refinery Access Road.

The Jackson County Road Department has re-opened a section of Shore Drive in the Gulf Hills Community. County road crews replaced cross drain pipes to improve storm water drainage in the area.
