Horse arena - Conrad Mallette Multi-Purpose Complex
From motorcycle races, to mule pull competitions, to Hurricane Katrina volunteer relief the Multi-Purpose Complex in Vancleave can host a wide range of events. The 60,000 square foot covered arena was built by the Board of Supervisors in 2004 and is open every day. The primary use of the complex is for horseback riding and rodeo competitions. The complex can also host entertainment events or local meetings with amenities such as: concession stands, bleachers, gates (if needed), full sound system and restrooms.
The arena was officially named in honor of long-time Vancleave resident Conrad Mallette in Nov. 2007 and dedicated in Feb. 2008. Mr. Mallette was a faithful member at First Baptist Church of Vancleave, a Board Member on both the Pat Harrison Waterway District and the Jackson County Farm Bureau Association, and Director of the Soil and Water Conservation Commission.
