Whispering pines Golf Course
Whispering Pines is the ideal mix for golfers - a challenging 18 hole course but at reasonable rates. Our 72 par course is 6,392 yards long with Southern Pines quietly guarding the pin on every hole. The course is just a long "dog leg" to the right from the MS Coast or a short drive from the state line.
Since 2003, the County has invested almost $800,000 into course improvement projects on the front and back-nine. The newest renovations were "teed-up" in Aug. 2007 when all back-nine greens were completely excavated and reestablished as sand based putting surfaces with dwarf Bermuda grass. The tee boxes were either rebuilt or relocated to give golfers new angles and fairway approaches. And drainage was improved across the entire back side of the course.
Whispering Pines is proudly operated by the Jackson County Board of Supervisors and managed by our Recreation Department. The course is open seven days a week and features - a driving range, club house, snack bar and grill, monthly specials, and pro lessons.
