Planning Department
Future Development of Jackson County
The Jackson County Planning Department is working on four critical documents relating the future development of the County. We invite the public to review these documents by using the following link: http://www.plannerstoolkit.com/jacksoncountyms.html.
Public comments are welcomed by: Emailing them to Michele_Coats@co.jackson.ms.us or faxing to 228-769-3312.
The Planning Department is one of the County’s most used and personally visited departments. The combination of more than 500 residents and business owners are served each month on average. To meet this demand, the Planning Dept. has an 18 person staff and offices on both the east and west sides of the County.
Planning’s staff handles a wide range of activities - residential building permits, new business permits, property inspections, and flood plain management. It’s important to remember our Planning Department only serves property owners in the unincorporated areas of the County.
This webpage is packed with valuable information for Planning. Below users will find information about the County’s Stormwater Management, zoning ordinances, permit applications and a variety of forms. A link to most of these forms can also be accessed from the website’s homepage for faster service.
