District Attorney Tony Lawrence and his Assistant DA's were sworn in on Dec. 29, 2011.
The mission of the Office of the District Attorney is to promote justice and protect the people of the 19th Judicial District (Jackson, George and
Greene
County ) by aggressively prosecuting criminals and holding them accountable for their actions. The District Attorney is elected to a four year term and is responsible for the prosecution of all felonies committed within the 19th District. The DA's office on average handles between 2500-3500 criminal cases per year.
Along with case work, the DA’s Office has established three programs with three very different objectives- A Worthless Check Unit, Pre-Trial Diversion Program and Victim Support Services.
