Ring… Ring… “Hello, I’m conducting a poll of
Jackson
County citizens,” was the phrase that greets hundreds of residents on the phone in Spring 2007. The phrase was the opening line for a large county-wide phone survey by the Jackson County Board of Supervisors.
The Board commissioned researchers from
University of South Alabama to conduct an independent phone survey of 553 county residents. The survey shows residents’ have positive views about dozens of County services and it also reveals areas for improvement.
“This is valuable information and we can use it,” Supervisor Manly Barton, said. “Getting feedback from our residents is a valuable tool in assessing needs.”
